Boots!

I've been fighting skinny jeans and boots for years. Loved it, but realized that it wasn't for me. I could never find boots that fit around my abnormally large calves. It never looked right. In fact, it looked downright bad.

Until Diabolina posted about these beauties. She also informed me that they were at Nordstrom for $119. I measured my calves and thought that they might even fit! They did and I bought them!

Then I realized I would have to buy the skinny jeans. Another fight I've been raging with my short stocky legs. But I would have to. It would be the perfect pair for touristy runnings through Paris.

I'm not entirely sure that I love the look on myself, but it's super comfy and I'm glad I surrendered. :-)

Fashion: Purple & Turquoise

Well, honestly, deep purple and everything.

Nico wore this dress for most of Lipstick Jungle last night. The purple and the turqouise... delish! Makes both of the colors pop and I'm loving it.
I wasn't going to watch another stupid show. Then Ani told me I just HAD to watch it. Until 3:00 am on Saturday. I watched them back to back online. (Maybe my bestie WTF has a not so bad idea with the getting rid of cable/watching shows online deal. I don't know if I can do it though.) It's no Sex & The City (and honestly will anything ever be.) But it's good. I can't jump on the Brooke Shields bandwagon. She bugs me. But the other characters are great. There seems to be a great balance of love/life/work/sex. Perhaps it's time to replace Cashmere Mafia in the TiVo lineup.

Fashion: Cocktail Rings

Everywhere I'm looking... Giant Huge Cocktail Rings. And I love them. Perusing through Something Old, Something New today and found this website, which lead to this ring. How beautifully fantastic is that!

An Open Letter to Saks Fifth Avenue

Dear Saks,

Thank you for your email this morning. I adore that you think of me each day with bits of beauty right in my inbox. You are so good at coming up with pieces that you think I might like. The bracelet you sent this morning is amazing. I'm thinking early birthday present for myself :-)

xoxo,
Jordy

Fashion: I'm LOVING Bright Colors

Brights Brights Everywhere! The drab beige and white is gone. Everything is so bright and festive and springy. I'm so excited :-)

I'm not a traditionally bright clothes wearer. Not that I'm afraid of the colors, I just tend to pick, well, in all honesty, boring colors. I'm sad to look in my closet and see all the blahness.

So, I bought these shorts. And obviously, I needed a new shirt to go along with the fabulousness that is these shorts.

Banana Republic was the obvious choice. I heart their sale rack like nothing else. (I hate to buy retail, it's ridiculous to me. It's going to go on sale in a few weeks, why not stick it out?! Hence, the delay in buying the above shorts.) End Rant.

I bought this lovely yellow number. Simple. Bright. Soft & Comfy.

(Please excuse the puffiness of my face. There were lots of cookies, cupcakes, pies & desserts this weekend. Will be hitting the gym with mad force this week. A double header today even!)

Would have worn the shorts to work if I knew I could swing it (or it wasn't 12 degrees). I'd probably be sent home for something so ridiculous. I was stuck on what to wear with the uberbrightness of the top. Black? No, couldn't look like the Demon. Brown? Ick. Beige? Blah. And then I remembered an Inspiration Board from a wedding that I'd seen somewhere at some point during my planning. Grey! I love it.

Fashion: What Makes It Fabulous?

*The Skinny Website

I love this look. But why? There's nothing really special about it. She looks kind of like she rolled out of bed and picked up some crap off the floor. No?

What is about it this particular combination of hat, scarve, hoodie, t, jeans, bag that just click? Perhaps the giant purple bag when it could have been a simple tote? Maybe it's the cutesy little hat when she could have gone with a baseball hat? That definitely would not have been as cute.

Note to self: attempt looking cuter when I really look like a bum
